Tally-Ho

Lish, Yale and I had the opportunity to head back to Tallahassee this last week. It was wonderful! The week was full of good friends, delicious eats, a sandy beach, and tasty treats. We had sooo much fun! But we were sooo busy and sooo tired when we got home.

The purpose of the trip was for Lish to defend his dissertation. And he passed. Yay! He has a few more things to edit and he will be done. Finished. Finito. (I do not think that is a word, but I like it.) I'm so proud of him for making this huge accomplishment! He's amazing!

Here are some visuals of the vacay:

I wish we had taken more pictures with friends, but we were just having way too much fun. Thanks for a great trip everyone! We'll sure miss you, Tallahassee. You were good to us and we shall always remember you fondly.

Tres...already?

My baby is 3 months old today. 3 months?! Wow. I have been trying so hard to just enjoy every moment because I know it just slips on by. (Well, I'm learning that it does and I've been told, so I think it's okay to say I know.) I think I've been doing a fairly decent job. I really love this little guy and I love that he's in my life. And Lish's life. I love seeing the two of them together. Lish can't get enough of him. It's so fun to see him as a father. I always knew he'd be a good one. Just the other day Lish was giving Yale a big ol' kiss on the mouth, like how he usually does, and Yale reached up, put his hands on Lish's cheeks, and was pulling him closer. It was so cute! Yale might not think it was 15 years from now, but it was.

Now, I'm not so great at this photoshooting thing that some parents with skillz do at every month. I've tried and they just don't quite capture how cute he really is. So, instead I'll post this video I took on Monday. Some of our friends just met Yale last week and gave him this tummy time mat. He loves it!

Do you hear how he's trying to laugh? Oh, such a cutie! And sorry for all the crinkling noises, but if Yale wasn't playing with the crinkly frog, it just wouldn't have been as cute.

Also, I'm not sorry that Yale has been in so many posts recently, but I will post about other things in due time.

Last Week

Creative title for this post, I know. Forgive me.
I have hit a wall and I'm trying to regain my energy as I sit here eating my Eggel Bagel.
Never had an Eggel Bagel? Shame on you.
Eggs and cheese on a bagel. Delicious.

Anyway, due to my lack of witty flowing juices, I shall just post some pictures for all to enjoy.

(Aren't these boxes amazing?
Scott made them for Yale and Alyse.
And his sister made those quilts on top.)

And here are some more pictures from when we were with Lish's dad and stepmom.
Since they hadn't met their grandchildren yet, we decided it would be fun to surpise them at the airport.
And surprise them we did.
We also took Yale and Alyse on their first swmming adventure.
And an adventure it was.
Good times!
